Village Park Resident’s Association

For 2010 we intend to use this site as a running record for all of our planting and blooming endeavours as we have done for 2005/2006/2007/2008 and 2009.

We once again hope to have a pictorial record from Spring bulbs to the Summer and Autumn flowering as well as our Green Thumb Awards for 2010.

We are also entered in the Britain in Bloom /Northumbria in Bloom competition in our own right as well as boosting the Stockton Borough Council entry for Thornaby in Bloom.

This year we are working with Community Payback once again to help tidy our Holmes Close Gateway Garden.

We also hope to have our own allotment this year where we plan to grow mostly vegetables and possibly enter some in Thornaby Show.

We intend to hold our Annual Green Thumbs Awards again this year with judging once again in August / September. Categories are listed to the right.

All category winners will be entered into next years CFYA awards and also be visited by Northumbria in Bloom judges in 2010 Neighbourhood Awards.

New for this year at the Mayors request is a special class for any gardens not directly in the VPRA area. This does not carry entry in to the best overall garden competition.

New for 2009 Spring Greens, we will be giving awards to the best show of Daffodils,Tulips and Crocus for homes in the Village Area.We will be taking nominations from March 7th onwards so if your garden or your neighbours is full of spring colour then let us know or better still send in a picture .Click on picture for e mail address.
